A cybercrime workshop in collaboration with the National Communications and Informatics Authority

In collaboration with the National Communications and Informatics Authority, a cybercrime workshop was held. On Wednesday morning, 29/06/2022 AD, the Libyan Academy for Telecom and Informatics, in collaboration with the National Authority for Communications and Informatics, organized a workshop on cybercrime at the Corenthia Hotel, which was delivered by experts from the Italian CY4GATE Academy.
Many leaders and delegates from the Telecom Holding Company, represented by the Investment Department, the General Authority for Communications and Informatics, the Central Bank of Libya, a group of banks and insurance companies, the Ministries of Interior and Economy, as well as a group of engineers and those interested in information security, attended the workshop. Mr Abdul Baset Al-Baour, the designated head of the Public Telecommunications Authority, opened the workshop with a speech emphasizing the importance of cyber security in the age of globalization, as a necessary first step on the path of digital transformation, as it is one of the main factors contributing to service quality. On the other hand, Dr Al-Shaibani warned against rushing into digital transformation without a cybersecurity plan, citing this as a risk in a world where circumstances have changed and crime has evolved into a sophisticated digital nature that requires high skills and intelligence from various segments to control.
And safeguards against its threat to state institutions. Following that, experts from CY4GATE Academy gave a presentation on cyber security, its challenges, advanced technologies, and what the minimum-security requirements in organizations are. In response to their inquiries, and in conclusion, the academy’s training programs and the extent to which they can benefit from modern technologies that can be used were introduced.
